I recently purchased this telephone for my mother who has quite severe hearing loss. I can finally talk to her without repeating myself. The only recommendation I can make would be the delete button for the answering machine. Too complicated for an 86 year old. So far a really great product.

Clarity C4230 is the best overall amplified phone

(Cordless Workz Editor) We have been using the Clarity C4230 for about 3 weeks now. In short, it is the best amplified phone we have ever tested. It's chocked full of features that are rarely found in amplified phones: answering machine, speakerphones in both the handset and base unit, expandable handsets and keypad dialing. Most importantly, the sound quality is excellent even at the higher amplification settings.
We also found the range to be exceptionaly good for a 5.8 GHz phone (at this frequency sound quality is usually excellent, but the range is mediocre). We were able to get a clear distortion-free signal even up or down 1 floor.
At first glace, the price tag may be excessive expecially since we do offer other cordless amplified phones in the 50 dB range for less money (most notably, the ClearSounds A50). Take heart, this phone is well worth the extra $$ spent.
If you do not need an answering machine or care about the base speakerphone, consider the Clarity C4220 instead ($50.00 less than the C4230).
