| 5/22/2008 | | | RCA 2 line DECT Offers Fantastic Range and Expandability (Cordless Workz Editor) | (editor's comments) After waiting for years, RCA finally delivers the first 2-line DECT 6.0 cordless phone offering--and it's a solid one. This phone system has remarkable range, scoring the highest marks of any DECT phone we have tested (single line or otherwise). In addition, the expandability (up to 9 additional handsets) is exceptional.
The console itself layout is well designed and is wall mountable. We especially liked the speed dial buttons and DND/privacy feature. Also, the answering machine has a recording time of 60 minutes.
We also give RCA high marks on reliability and customer satisfaction. After six weeks of shipping this phone, returns and complaints from our customer are almost non-existent. From what we have seen so far, we would consider the durability "very good."
On the downside, we felt the overall sound quality could have been better as compared to other 1-line DECT phones. To be fair, many customers have told us they thought the sound quality was excellent. In addition, the call waiting "beep" was annoying. Every time a call came in on line 2, this beep would drown out the person you are talking with on line 1 for several seconds. Unfortunately, many of today's phones share this problem. |
